About:China Customs Declaration

Brochures for a event

Hi,
I am bringing 500 brochures for a conference where I will participate. You say that I must declare advertising items - "8. Cargo, commercial samples, advertising items" , so I guess I must declare those brochures?

Thanks. Do you know if I will be asked to pay duty, or just need to declare and show them at the red channel?

I read the regulations that the avertsing items have to be declare and if the items's value is over CNY400, you have to pay some tax.
