About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

72-hour visa free transit

Traveling to Amsterdam on Australian passport, booked ticket from Sydney -> Guangzhou -> Beijing (staying Beijing for less 72 hours) -> Amsterdam. Does 72-hour visa free transit policy apply to my trip?

No, because you will transit in two cities in China. So, you need to apply for a transit visa in advance.
