About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

is it required to have an inviter to visit China?

I plan to visit China and tour the country on my own timeline for 13 days. I do not have a contact there nor have I made a hotel reservation. Is this a problem?

If you do not have an inviter, you should provide round-trip ticket and hotel reservations for application. Hotel booking for first few nights is enough.
