About:Beijing Great Wall

I am planning to hike between Jianguomen and Simatai on Sunday 3/31.

What are our options (bus, taxi, train, etc.) to get to and from these sections of the Great Wall from the Forbidden City area?

Since you are at Jianguomen area, you can go to Jianguomen Station to take subway line 2 to reach Dongzhimen and then walk to reach Dongzhimen Bus Station where you find bus 980 take you to reach Miyun Bus Station.
Get out of the station, you can walk across the road and then you may find direct mini-bus to take you to reach Simatai directly.
