About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

Transit through Beijing

I'm going to Tokyo and will be going through Beijing. I am staying in Beijing for less than 48 hours, but will be leaving the airport. Do I need a visa?

If you have onward air ticket from Beijing to Tokyo, you can enjoy the 72 hours free stay in Beijing. And it's ok for you to leave the airport.
