D4 Visa- still need 6 months?

I currently have a D4 visa that expires in August (5 months) but will be getting a D2 Visa for another year during the summer as I will be going to graduate school here. Do I still need to have the 6 months of validity if I get a letter from my school confirming my length of stay?

Hi, since foreign passport holders are required to apply through travel agencies in korea, you'd better contact any of them in your place for the latest information. I got mine last year, but with ARC valid for more than 6 months.
