About:Hong Kong Trains - High Speed Rail

i just want to know which is the fastest way and cheapest to travel from Hong kong to Guangzhou and for the back journey as well.

You can take train from Hung Hom in HK to Guangzhou, and vice versa.

I read in the article above that the ticket window closes 6 hours before train departure from Guangzhou to Hong Kong. Is this still in practise? Thanks
