About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Will try to pass 72 hours visa free line and hope to get through.

Danish(Denmark) passport holder, arriving Shanghai from Bangkok March 26th 12,30 by SriLankanAir. Have confirmed ticket Shanghai to Helsinki 28/3 at 10,15 am. Have asked both FinnAir(airline for SHA to Helsinkinki) and SriLanka BKK-SHA for pre-approval, but both suggest to ask China Embassy, Denmark which from same quistion refer to airline.

Yes, you are exempted from visa to stay in Shanghai for less than 72 hours if you fly this way. But make sure inform the Sri Lanka Air about your free transit request in advance before landing.

Have sent e-mail to both Sri Lanka Air and FinnAir to get pre-accept, but both refer to China Visa in Denmark. China Visa refers to Airlines, not easy.. Will inform SriLanka when entering plane, print out boarding pass to Helsinki and bring hotel reservation. Hope enough at 72 hours free immigration.

Can you please let us know after your flight, what they wanted before boarding? I think a lot of airlines currently don't know about this 72-hour policy, so I assume they might making some problems on check-in to China... I just want to know if it's really without any hassle! :-)
