About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Hi, we are a couple from the UK, we wanted to apply for a multi-entry visa breaking it in Hong Kong.

We would have one month travelling down from Beijing, then a week in Hong Kong then a month travelling up to Urumqi, flying out from there. We have just been told that these visas are no longer available, only the standard 30 day tourist visa is available to us. Is that right?

As the itinerary said above, a double entry tourist visa is enough. It is true that the multiple entry is not available if you visit China for the first time. May I know where you are applying for it?
