may day 2013 - difficulties with trains/busfinding hotel.

Question

My wife and I will be going to Yunnan (Kunming, Dali, Liijang , Shangri-la and further on to Chengu in the end of april/beginning of may 2013. Will it be difficult to get tickets to bus and trains, and getting a hotel room??Which days are the worst.mvhKristensen, Denmark

There may be problems on booking during May Day, but if you can make your plan well before and book all your hotels in advance, the situation is not bad. I went there last May, but I do not think it is horrible. I enjoyed my traveling there.
