how long does it the for l extension in xining, qinghai?

Hi Everyone, I have a multiple entry L visa to China valid for 30 days stay per entry. On my next trip, I would like to stay for exactly 37 days and would like to apply for a visa extension in Xining before travelling up to Lhasa where unfortunately there is no office of the Public Security Bureau. I have only 3 days in Xining before catching the train to Lhasa.Does anyone know how many days are required to apply and get a visa extension in Xining?Thanks in anticipation for your help.

As to the regualtion, you should submit your application for extension at least a week before it expires. So, it means the extension takes 5 working days. It is not enough if you only stay in Xining for 3 days only. I try to check online, and got this address: No. 35, North Street, Xining, QinghaiTel: 0971-8251758

Thank you, Alfred fromChina for your useful reply. I can alternatively apply for an extension either in Beijing or Kunming. Do you know the current addresses of the Public Security Bureau Enter-Exit Management Bureau in these cities, i.e. Beijing (do they have one near Qianmen) and Kunming? I have tried to search their addresses but I keep getting different answers. Once again, thank you for your help.

If you try to do it in Beijing, you can visit Beijng Municipal Public Security Bureau.
