Is single entry visa for indian passport holder allows him to travel to Macau and back to china?

I am travelling on business trip to china and have direct flight to Guangzhou from Bangalore, i have been given single entry visa. I wish to travel to Macau from china and get back to Guangzhou to catch a return flight to bangalore. Since i will be entering china twice i.e once when i land at Guangzhou airport from bangalore and again after i get back from Macau. would this constitute multiple entry?

A single entry is not enough if you enter China twice. But may I know is your second entry only a transit through Guangzhou Aipport? if yes, and the stopover is less than 24 hours without leaving the airport, visa is exempted.
