About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Which travel agency in Japan to get the visa?

I have a European passport and read that I need to obtain the visa through a travel agency. I went to "no.1 travel" near my house but they charged me 11000 yen for the visa!! It's almost 3 times as much.
So I let my Japanese friend call the embassy because it was a kind of automatic tape only in Japanese and she told me that I should be able to apply myself if I submitted the travel itinerary, flight/hotel bookings, the application form and copy of my passport and Japan entry permit (tourist).
I am a little bit confused right now but I would like to try as it is much cheaper but if it doesn't work are there any other travel agencies I could try? Maybe some near the embassy.
I asked at HIS but they don't do it.

Yes, it is true that agencies charge much. But as I know, you have to apply through any of them. There is an agency beside the Chinese embassy in Tokyo. Sorry I don't know their name and contacts. You can also buy tickets from them and bargain with them for the visa service.

I will go by ferry and most travel agencies do not provide those tickets so I am afraid I can not by the tickets through them. How much was the fee? I don't mind paying more but I think that 11000 is crazy :(

Sorry I have no idea and forgot to ask my friend for the fee, but if you have already paid for tickets, they may also charge same amount of money for visa service.
