What was the Social factors of building the Great wall of China?

Warfare was frequent in ancient China when many people want to flight for throne, including the people of Central Plain and some of northern nomadic tribes. Therefore, to prevent the people of Central Plain from being attacked by the tribes, the Great Wall was constructed as a defend.
