Taking Pets into China

My husband works for Shell and we will be transferring to Beijing over the summer. We have 2 small chihuahua mixed dogs and plan on taking them with us. According to my notes I need to find out from you what the most recent travel requirements are and what fees are associated with entry and quarantine.

I know I have to get a rabies certificate for both of them, as well as all health and vaccination records. Also 10 days before travel I need to obtain separate International Health Certificates from my vet (which includes dog's name, age, weight, height, sex and owners name as listed on his passport). It must include a declaration that my pets are vaccinated and in good health and the certificates must be endorsed by my local USDA.

Once in China I will take the dogs to the animal quarantine office in the airport along with fees and documents required.

I hope all this information is accurate but if not please let me know what else needs to be done. I certainly don't want my pets to not be allowed into the country!

Thank you in advance for your assistance!!

Hi, it is enough if you have Certificate of immunization and Quarantine certificate for them. As I know, pets will be quarantined for 30 days at the designated place on arrival in China.
