Visa duration / validity

Is it possible to request a visa more than 6 months in advance of the planned trip? We would need a single entry tourist visa but plan to arrive at end of September. We will stay for only a week.

According to what I know, the applicants should apply for their visa one month in advance of the intended date of entry but not earlier than 3 months of the intended date of entry.
