Hello, Need guidance on visa procedures to visit China.

I am an Indian national staying in US on OPT and would like to come to China for travelling. Can I travel and what are the steps that I need to follow?
Detailed answer would help a lot.

You need to apply for a L visa from the Chinese embassy in the US. The documents you need to prepare for are listed clearly on this page. For non-American applicants like you, you also need to provide the original and a photocopy of proof of U.S. residency, work or study, proof of residency in the consular district (e.g. ID, water or electricity bills or tenancy agreement, etc. ) or a valid U.S. visa.
