Confused about requirements for the non-us citizens

Hello! I am foreign student in US, and applying for tourist visa. I tried once, but got rejected, they asked me for these documents: 1) approval letter from employer(what is that? I am a student, not a worker) 2)US permanent resident card (I suppose that is green card, but I don't have it) all I got is this
1) basic requirements for application(application, passport, invitation letter from friend)
2) water bil
3) student visa J-1
4) copy of rental agreement
5) original of ds-2019

Is it enough for to be approved? cause I have one day to apply

Hi, these documents are enough. But please check again if you went to the right office?
