About:China Great Wall

I don't understand how some of the wall disapeared. How does that even work?

The wall was built in the old time of China and has hundreds even thousands of years history. During these years, lack of protection was the main reason for its disappearing.
Besides, the bad weather condition also leads to the dsiappearing.
