Duratiomn of Chinese visa

Hi. My family and I are planning to visit Beijing and Shanghai this April 2013. We are Philippine citizens. Does the Chinese embassy usually give a tourist visa for 7 days or more? How long does the Chinese embassy usually give for tourist visas? Thanks
