visa issue for individual traveling

Question

I will need a tourist visa for China but am travelling WITHOUT a group and organising it all by myslef (flights, hotels, buses). Can I apply for one at all? I am not able to get anything like a travel authorisation or an invitation letter but I do have hotel reservations and flight reservations (in/out country)? Is that enough or will my visa be denied?

Yes, you can apply for it. The documents are sufficient for application. Anyway, the embassy or consulate has the final say on the result.

U people don't have a steady answer, is that you people are not sure or confused. The last time I checked u said u can't issue out any tourist visa to an individual. Except they are up to five in numbers so how come your telling this person from zurich that she can apply her documents are ok for applying. Please be straight forward.
