Must I return to country of origin?

Hello, I'll be working in China for 5 months and would then like to fly to another country instead of returning to my country of origin. Is this possible? Someone told me that when travelling to China I must be returning to my country of origin. Leaving to go to another country isnt accepted... is this correct? Thankyou

Yes, of course you can fly to another country after finishing your work from China.
