Xian to Huanglong or jiuzhaigou

btw. I like to continue my trip a few days after to Guilin. Whats the best way to transfer my group ?

I recommend JZG to you more.

From Xian to the destination, I suggest you all take airplane to Chengdu first. Then you can take the airport shuttle bus no. 303 to Minshan Hotel, near which you can find Xinnanmen Bus Station. There you can take a direct long-distance bus to the scenic area.

To Guilin, you can also go to Chengdu Airport to take a direct flight to reach.

What would you estimate concerning total travel times.
As said, I come from Xian. So you suggest take a plane to Chengdu (about 1.5 hrs?!) than an shuttle (how long will that take) and further on with long distnace bus (how long witll THAT one take me).

The same in opposite direction for the way back to the airport I guess?!

Reading on It becomes clear to me that Chengdu to JZG will cost us too much time if we have to travel by bus. Do you have any idea about the prices for a small minivan with driver from Chengdu to JZG. 3 days later we have to be back in Chengdu.

Anoher option is going by place from Chengdu to JGZ but I don't see many recommendations in this forum for that option. Why??

Hi, airplane from Xian to Chengu takes an hour and a quarter to an hour and twenty minutes. Then the shuttle bus to Chengdu city center takes about 45min. The long-distance bus departing from Xinnanmen Bus Station to the scenic area takes about 8-9h.

As I know, the chartered minivan costs about CNY800-1,000 for single journey.

What i meant was another option is travel by plane from Chengdu to JGZ. But it seems that nobody is recommending that option for some reason. I'm not sure why. Is it hard to arrange or what?

As i wrote already, travel 8-9 hrs by bus is not an option for me and my party, so a quicker (plane) solution would be nice.

That's right. There are flights between Chengdu and JZG, but it will not take you to the scenic area directly. Upon your getting off at JZG Airport, you also need to take a bus to reach there in about 1.5h. In addition, the air fare is much more expensive than the long-distance bus.

Anyway, to take an airplane is surely a good way to save time.
