We have 8 people travelling return in March and I would like to find out what the best bus would be to take, roughly how much it would cost and where we can buy tickets.

Hi, you can go to the local Haizhu Bus Station to take a direct long-distance bus to Meizhou. Bus fare is CNY150 per person. I suggest you buy the bus ticket on the spot. Or you can go to the local East Railway Station to take a train to reach there within 5.5h. Train ticket costs less than bus.
