About:Chinese Embassy in Russia

French in Russia

Hi! I'm French, living in Russia, and I'd like to travel to China in March.
First question: do I need to give my passport to the embassy and so stay in Russia at least 5 days without my French document?
Second question: my working visa will end at the end of May, is that enough to obtain a visa or do I need to ask for a new one?
Third question: do I need to go myself to the embassy, or can my boyfriend ask for his and mine in the same time?
Thank you for your answers!

Regards
Géraldine

Yes, original passport is required during processing at the embassy or consulate. You can try to request expedited service if necessary.
Generally, it is required that your work visa for Russia should be valid for more than 6 months if you apply there. So, you may need to get a new one first before application.
Personal appereance if not required, you can ask your boyfriend to handle your application on your behalf.

Thanks Kenny for your reply.
I asked to obtain a new visa but that seems impossible. As a result I will not have a working visa with a validity of 6 months (but only 3). Is it anyway possible to obtain a visa?
I tried to call the embassy but no answer.
Moreover do we need to provid a travelling insurance?
Thank you for your help.

It is possible to get a visa with your 3 months Russian visa. Travel issurance is not mandatory. But you should prepare return ticket and hotel reservation for application.
