which ticket to get to take mtr in hong kong

Question

We are a group of 10 seniors, some over 60 and some under all from Australia. We will be in hong kong for 3 days and want to use the metro for access to markets at night and disneyland for one day. Is an octopus card economical as we cannot return it for a refund i gather without loss of some funds.

If you do not want to or do not have chance to get your refund after your HK visiting, it is suggested not to use the Octopus card. If you plan take MTR a lot, you can choose to buy the Airport Express Travel Pass. It is much better. You do not need to return it if you do not want to.The Octopus card is economical when taking buses and MTR and this card can be easy return at HKIA. So I think you can return it when you leaving from the airport easily.If you can, it is highly recommended to get such a card.
