Do I have to renew my passport?

Hi my daughter would be on a study tour to china on April to May. I plan to go with her for a 2 weeks vacation on April however my passport would be expiring on October do I need to renew my passport now so that I would be issued a Visa. I would also like to return there on May so I could go with her to see other places. Thanks

I don't think you need to renew your passport. If you apply for a single entry L visa, your passport should have two blank pages and its validity should be at least six months. You go to China in April, usually you need to apply for it one month in advance. Thus, your passport validity is seven months when you apply. It meets the requirements.

However, I still suggest you confirm it with the Chinese embassy.
