Diff name on passport

Hi, This would be my first time applying for a Chinese visa, but the translated English name on my old Chinese passport is a little different to my current US passport, there is no official name change documents or proofs, will my visa request be denied?

Hi, generally you will be asked to provide name change documents when submit your applcation to the office. They may refused to accept your application without it.
You can have a try anyway.
