Tourist Visa to China through the China Embassy in Seoul as a US tourist?

Can I get a tourist visa from the China Embassy in Seoul if I am a tourist in Korea? I am interested in visiting Beijing for shopping and general tourist activities for a few days and I wonder if I can get it during my travels in Korea?

I am afraid you can't. Foreigners who want to apply for visas to China, he/she must provide the alien registration card in South Korea with at least 6 months remaining validity.
