Do i require a visa to visit China & where can i get Chinese lessons?

I am a journalist student and me and my friends are planning to visit China as part of our world history tour in August. Wanted to know if we have to apply for visas and also if there is a place in Harare where we can get Chinese/Manderine lessons before we travel.

Hi, if you are going to China for temporary news coverage, you need to apply J-2 visa. But if for tourism only, tourist L is ok. For mandarin lessons, you may search online, or just refer to brief online learning class here http://community.travelchinaguide.com/learn-chinese/ which I think enough for travel. BTW, many Chinese know English and some speak english very well. So, don't worry.
