Hong Kong Int'l to Shenzhen to Puning

We are travelling from Toronto, Canada to Puning. I understand that we should fly into Hong Kong, take the bus to Shenzhen and then go to Puning. Will be travelling with my parents and I do not think they can take so many hours on the plane, and then bus. Planning to stay one night in Hong Kong and then travel to Shenzhen the next day and then to Puning.
How long to go from Hong Kong to Shenzhen to Puning? Is there a train from Shenzhen to Puning?

You can choose the MTR in Hong Kong to reach Luohu, Shenzhen. Eest Rail Line can take you to Lo Wu, where you can pass the immigration borer to Luohu, Shezhen. Then you can go to the nearby Qiaoshe Bus Station to take bus to Puning. The bus journey will take you about three hours and a half to four hours.
There is no trains between the two places.
