Does this mean I can’t? I just find carrying my passport all the time ideous. And plus it makes my student card useless, because no body ever asks for it not unless I am doing my exams!0

Student ID is meant only valid in school or to obtain discounted prices, not a form of valid ID. They only accept chinese ID or passport for foreginers (unless you're from HK/TW/MC)0
