Octopus card expiration

Hello! We went to Hongkong last October 2009 and I wasn't able to refund the amount when we left. We will be coming back this March 2013. Can I still use the old octopus card? Is my previous stored money still there? Thanks.

Yes, it is still can be used. Here is the regulation: "If you have not added value to your Octopus for 1,000 days or above, your Octopus will be deactivated. You can go to any Customer Service Centre at MTR stations to have it reactivated free of charge."
