About:Hong Kong Travel

On-Loan Octopus Card lent by a friend in Indonesia

My friend lent me her On-Loan Octopus Card for my future trip to HKG on May'13, is it transferable?
If it is transferable, how do I check if the card is active/deactived? How much I should get the reload for 5 days trip in HK (exclude ticket fare 11A Bus vv)

Hi, as I know, the On-loan Octopus has two types. If it is Standard Octopus, it is certainly transferable. If it is Personalised Octopus, I'm afraid not, because it is imprinted with her name and photo.

If the card can be transferable, you can go to any of the MTR Customer Service Centres to check whether it is active.

Do you just pay for the transport or also pay for other cost with it? Anyway, I suggest you deposit 200HKD in advance for convenience.
