About:Dual Nationality

Chinese Citizenship means revoke

Hello - I am a US citizen; however, both my parents were Chinese and I was born in China. If I declare myself to be a Chinese citizen, does that mean I am automatically succeeding from America and revoking my American citizenship?

I read the relevant rules which show that if you personally declare to have another nationality, it is ok to maintain your US nationality. But if you go to American Consulate to manage the relevant procedure to declare that you give it up, you will revoke the US citizenship.

However, there is another problem. Dual nationality is not admitted in China. Therefore, if you keep your US citizenship, you can't be a Chinese citizen.
