Itinerary For 7-10 March at Xi'an

I have 4D3N (7-10 March) there, what will be the best itinerary plan - assuming I would like to go to these places:
Mt Huashan (day trip), Terracotte Warriors & Horses Museum, Qing Shi Huang Museum, City Wall, Great Mosque, Big & Small Wild Goose Pagoda & Bell Tower.

I am arriving on 7 March at 3pm & leaving at 1pm.

Thanks.

Since you will arrive so late, it is suggested to go to the Bell Tower and the Great Mosque and then at night, you can taste the local snacks in the Muslim Quarter.
2nd day, Terracotte Warriors and Qinshihuang Museum.
3rd day, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, City Wall and Small Wild Goose Pagoda. In the later after, you can take a bus or bullet trains to reach Mt Hua in the afternoon. Then you can climb the mountain at night.
In the next morning, after you enjoy the beautiful sun-rising on the peak, you can return Xian. Having a sleep in the hotel, and then it may be the time for leaving.

Thank you so much.

I will try your kind advise. But stay at Mt Huashan, what can I do at night?

Will the stay there be expensive? What is the rate like?

What is the cost for the Bullet Train to & fro from Xi'an & Mt Huashan?

Regards.

I am thinking of going to Mt Hua Shan on the 2nd day & stay there for 1 night. The next morning (3rd day) go back to Xi'an for Terracotte Warriors & QinShiHuang Museum. Then the last morning go to Big, Small Wild Goose Pagoda & City Wall. Then I can catch my flight back at 1pm. Ok?

Hi, I am a local person and glad to share something I know.

Firstly, we usually climb the mountain at night so that we can watch the sunrise in the early morning. Of course there are some accommodation places on the mountain near the sunrise-watch platform. It usually costs CNY60-100 per person per night.

By bullet train from Xian North Railway Station to Huashan North Railway Station, the ticket fare is CNY34 for a second class seat and CNY60 for a first class seat.

As for the itinerary adjustment you mentioned, it is ok.

You can go to the mountain in the 2nd. If you have interest, you can go there a little early to have a visit the nearby Xiyue Temple (and)or Jade Spring Temple first. After that, you can climb the mountain or take the cable car to the peak, where you can find an accommodation place to stay. The sunrise there cannot be missed.

Terracotta Warriors Museum is at Lintong, which is about 35km from Xian. So from Mt. Hua, you don't need to go back to the city. Just rent a car or take a taxi to visit the Terracotta Warriors.

After that, it is easy to take bus no. 306, 914 or 915 from the musuem back for your further visiting at Xian.

Hi Nina,

Great. So if I reach Mt Hua Shan at 3pm, I can go visit Xiyue & Jade Spring Temples. Are these places near the entrance of Mt Hua Shan?
So if I start to climb Mt Hua Shan at 6pm, what time will I reach the sunrise-watch platform? Which entrance should I go? Can I go up to the mountain then book the hotel/accomodation?

From Mt Hua Shan, you mentioned I can take a taxi to Terracotta Warriors Museum at Lintong, how much will be the taxi fare? How long will be the travelling? Any bus to there?

Your information is really of great help. I will definitely enjoy my trip there in March.

Xiyue & Jade Spring Temple are near the entrance of the mountain.
About 5 to 6 hours, you can reach the peak. You can start your climbing from the Jade Spring Temple area. The hotels on the mountains can be booked after you reach there during low season, but it is suggested to book in advance in peak season and holidays.
For the taxi fare is around 250 to 300 RMB and it will take you about an hour and ten minutes to arrive the Terracotta Warriors.

Hi Nina,

Do you have the contact for these hotels:

1. Golden Sky Mountain Villa (Jintian Shanzhuang)
2. Five-Cloud Peak Hotel
3. Yuntai Mountain Villa

I would like to book before I go there.

Climbing at night is it dangerous? Any form light?

Dear Joe. I don't have the contact information of the villa and hotels. But don't worry! You can easily check in upon your arrival.

I climbed the mountain during last September, at night. There are lights throughout the road. Personally, it is not that dangerous as I thought. Take easy!
