Do I need to transfer my old passport's valid visa to my new passport immediately ?

Hello!
I am living in china for 2 years with my wife.I had applied for new passport and just received it recently. But I still have valid visa in my old passport. I am just wondering do I need to transfer it to my new passport immediately or I can wait until my it expired. Please kindly advise.

Hi, if there is any change on your new passport, you'd better transfer your visa to the new passport. But if no change involves in passport renewal, you can wait until your visa expires.

Dear Krishna,
I also want to renew my passport as it will be expired but my Z still valid. Please what do you mean 'need of having changes on the new passport to be able to move the Z to the new passport'. What can be changed in the new passport please? Because i don't know if i need to go to Hong Kong to apply for another Z on the new passport and i don't prefer it. Thank you.

Please could you give some useful information whether my husband will get Z like me or directly a residence permit without Z visa on his passport.
