Shopping in Guangzhou, near the local railway station

Hi,
I know that around GZ Railway Station, there are a number of shopping malls, and that there is an area for wholesale. I went once, early this Summer 2012, but it was with a couple of locals. So, I have forgotten the names and places.
I do remember that when I took underground, it was a super long walk through the exit (?) and I past by the Railway Station. What stations was that?
And I do remember that one of the malls was about 7 floors high, and the top floor had a number of places to eat and that it closes around 6pm. Closer to the evening, there are a lot of 'hawkers' selling all kids of things.
Could you please help out? I'll be travelling from Canton East Railway Station on 26th.
Thank you!

Well, you may mean Baima Clothing Wholesale Market near which you can find the underground walking route and many other shops for wholesale. And that bu stop should be Zhanqian Road. Actually, it is in service from 08:30 to 17:30.

From East Railway Station, you can take subway line 1 to Gongyuanqian MTR Station, where you can transfer to subway line 2 to the local Railway Station. Upon arrival, you can get out from Exit D4. Then walk about 250m, and you will get to Zhanqian Road, near which the Baima Wholesale Market is located.
