Jewellery

can i take some items of jewellery from UK for gifts into China for my girlfriend and her family? they wouldn't be very valuable, maybe £600 in total and about ten individual items.

You can take some jewllery into China, but you have to declare that. According to the regulations, if it exceeds the self-use amount, you need pay 10% tax for the extra.
