how is the weather in july? is it rainy season? also is it better to take a train or airplane from Shanghai

Hi, it will be very hot then with the average temp of about 28C. It will not be the rainy season, so it rains a little. Summer clothes are suggested to be taken at that time.
Airplane is suggested for this journey and it only takes 1h or a little longer. However, only one train runs fro the journey each day and takes more than 15h.
