Transit in China

Hi,
I am a Filipino.I will be going to Israel for 15 days.I have my flight itinerary already. I will fly from Manila to Beijing and stay for 12 hours, I will get my checked in baggage in Beijing,stay in a hotel (12hours). In the morning, I will checkin to another airline going to Israel.I have the roundtrip ticket all the way back to Manila.

My question is, do I need to apply for a transit Chinese visa or can I just have my passport stamped by immigration with stay permit? This is my situation also on my return to MAnila.

Since you will leave the airport to stay in a hotel, I advise you apply for a transit visa in advance.

Thanks for the response. I learned that I can stay at the airport lounge. So I will not leave the airport. I only need to get my checked-in baggage when I arrive in Beijing airport.
