Retiree Residency

Hello,

I am a recent retiree from a major oil company. I have a steady income that will last for the rest of my life. I have intentions to come to China to seek and marry a Chinese woman and possibly reside in China, or the US, after our marriage. Can you tell me if this is permitted and the steps that I wold have to take to accomplish this goal?

Also, I have been teaching electronics at a private college here in the US part time for 6 years and I might want to continue teaching if China has similar technical schools.

Thank you for your help.

Hi, by now you are only able to apply for tourist visa. This allows 30 days stay generally. I am not sure if you have family in China, but if you get married with a Chinese, you are eligible to get a family visit visa with longer duration, for example valid for one year or two. Or, the other option is to work as a teacher in China on a work Z visa. This has long duration as well.
