do i need to renew my passport

Question

I have a multi-entry visa that was issued for 12 months in June of 2012.  I have a trip planned to Singapore in February of 2013 with a passport that will be expiring in June of 2013.  Will it be necessary for me to renew my passport prior to my February trip.  If so, I assume I will then also need to apply for a new visa as the one I have would then be issued under my prior passport?

Does any name or passport number change involved in passport renewal? if yes, you have to apply for a new visa then.
