school start jan.21 for i year. can i enter china a month before that?

I'm enrolled In Beijing to study mandarin for I yr. they said I must apply my student visa in Philippines. Can I fly to china one month before my school start? It will start on jan.21The school said I can only fly in Beijing 3 weeks before the school start. Is it true?

Hi, the regulation requires you to apply for a residence permit within 30 days after entry with the student X visa. If the school will not be open and help with the procedure for it one month prior, then you can not get the permit in time. It is true if you were told by them to enter 3 weeks earlier.
