About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Hi, I need to collect my bags and re check in for another flight at Beijing Airport

Will I need a visa to be able to collect my bags from my flight fromSYD, and then re check in my luggage onto a flight leaving in 5 hours to go to Rome. Also looking for info to store a bag at Beijing airport for 16 days.

I don't think you need any visa for the 5-hour transit. There are luggage storage counters on the east of Corridor between T1 to T2, near gate 9 in the arrival hall on the first floor and gate 10 and gate 8 on the departure hall on the second floor of T2, East of public space of Arrival Hall at 2nd foor of T3-C, West of public space of Arrival Hall at 2nd foor of T3-C.
