About:Embassy of Ghana in China

I want to know whether it is possible to acquire the new biometric passport right here in China.

I would also want to know how long it takes to process it since my one-year resident permit will be expiring on the 24th April 2013.
My name is Emmanuel Kwesi Nyantakyi and a PhD Research Fellow at Yangtze University, Caidian-Wuhan. My passport will be expiring on the 24th of April 2013. I would be travelling back on the 20th of January 2013 and return on the 2nd of March 2013. Would you advice that i rather do the biometric registration and get my passport before coming back. Wouldn't that renders my resident permit invalid? Please advice.

I advise you re-new your passport in your home country, and take both the old and the new passport with you for your re-entry to China. You can also ask for some practical help from the administration of the Yangtze University.
