Jiankou in december

halo, i want to ask something about how to go to Jiankou in low season. Some source said that there's no bus to/from Jiankou in low season. I plan to go to Jiankou at 15 December. is it true? is it safe to go to Jiankou at that time? and once more, due of limited time is it possible to go from downtown - jiankou - downtown just from 8am - 3 pm only. thankyou

If you do not have any outdoor sport experience, that section is not suggested to climb in December.
For the transportation, you can go to Dongzhimen Bus Station where you can find many buses for Huairou. You can take any of them to reach Huairou and then take a taxi to reach directly. That section is very steep. One day is enough, but may be little bit rush for you especially during the winter time. If you really want to go, it is suggested to ask some to accompany with you and all of you to hire a taxi to reach directly.

Do you mean hire a taxi from Beijing? What would you estimate the expense of the ride each way? Or were you meaning getting the taxi after the first bus ride? Thanks for the info!

Hey, to take a taxi from Beijing city to the section, it costs around CNY350. If you take a bus to Huairou and then transfer to a taxi, the cab fare shall be CNY80-100.
