About:China Tourist Visa

experience required when applying for a visa and work permit to teach English?

While on a student visa last year, I taught English on a temp/part time basis at a large chain school in China. I am now considering going back to China to teach on a proper Z visa sponsored by a school (most likely a public university). I’m concerned about if/how I should state my prior teaching experience. Obviously I want a potential employer to know that I already have experience in and familiarity with China. On the other hand, I don’t want this to cause problems when, as I understand it, they have to list my relevant work experience (minimum 2 years?) when applying for a work permit on my behalf. When submitting my resume I could simply omit my part time teaching experience in China or redefine my status as ‘intern’ or ‘trainee’ at that school…Any suggestions? Thanks!

Before applying for the Z visa, you have to apply for an offer from a Chinese university first. Then yoru employer will help you with the visa application.

thanks. I realize that the employer will assist with the application. my concern is that when they submit record of my work experience to the local PSB, when seeing that I taught in China before as a student, this would raise some questions..

You just did some part-time job in China during your study, which won;t affect your work visa application this time. Please take it easy.
