my wife following PHD in china Huazhong agricultural university,Wuhan (for 3 years periode).she invite us to (me and two kids) visit china on march 2013 for one and half months period.elder son is grade 3 school boy and yonger son is in nussary school.I am working as a engineer in the private construction firm.we have inviting letters from the same university.I want to know what are the other recquirments for visa process (bank deposit,property etc..)and which date I should apply for it.

You need to provide copies of your wife's visa and residence permit in China. Basic documents needed are your passports, application form and photo. If you are going to stay in China for one an half months, you'd better prepare a bank statements as financial proof. BTW, round-trip ticket is required too. If your travel date is March 2013, you can apply in Jan.or Feb. 2013.

As his wife is in China and she sends an invitation to him, still does he need a bank statement? I think no need as they are planing to stay with her for 1-2 months by using her money
