The guests or visitors are invited to sit farther from the door and next to the guests should sit the elders. The most unimportant person or the younger one should sit close to the door. People need to sit on the chair from the left of the chairs. I hope it is clear for you.

In a formal family dinner, the elders/superiors are normally seated on the north side facing south, and the young/inferiors are seated on the south side facing north.
